The Queensland Billiards and Snooker Association would like to Congratulate Hayden Goode on winning the 2012 Australian U12 8Ball title earlier today. Hayden was last years champion so to defend his title is an impressive feat. Hayden beat fellow Queenslander Nikolas Burnett 6-3 in the final. Hayden's run through the tournament is quite impressive he played 14 games in the round robin section winning them all and only dropping 6 racks whilst winning 42. Previous Champions include Kurt Brown, Guy Allen and some bloke called Neil Robertson. Hayden holds the Current U12 National Snooker title as well and is perhaps the only junior to hold both titles for 2 consecutive years.

Last night Danik Lucas beat Stephen Burford in the final of the Premier League Billiards. Chasing a start of 625 over 2-1/2 hours Danik proved too strong for Steve catching him with about 20 minutes to go. Steve struggled most of the night failing to produce the kind of form that saw him easily account for Garvin Gray in his semi final. Whilst in contrast Danik seemed to move his play to another level from what he displayed in his semi final against Les Watson. |
