2011 Queensland Billiards Graded Championships

Congratulations to Austin Taylor, John Vanderzee & Rob Bayliss. Full results available for A, C & D Grade.

The Billiards Graded Championships were last contested in 2009 and Members stated its time to have new Champions! Draws for:

Saturday - A Grade at Redlands commencing 10am - 2 groups of 3 RR, Semi-finals & Final - Tournament Director Jim Savage.

Saturday - C Grade at Sherwood commencing 10am - 1 group of 4 and 1 group of 3 RR, groups drawn prior to play.

Sunday - D Grade at Sherwood commencing 10am - 2 groups of 3 RR, Semi-finals & Final.

Sunday - B Grade at Q-Masters commencing 10am - postponed due to insufficient entries.

Format is determined by number of entries received. A guide is:
Under 8 entries - round robin 60 minute games, semifinals & final 75 minutes.
Eight to twelve entries - knock-out all 75 minute games.
Over thirteen entries - knock-out 60 minute games, semifinals & final 75 minutes.

Players may participate in more than 1 Grade (ie. a C Grade player may play on Saturday in C Grade AND on Sunday in B Grade)
Entry fee is $15 per Grade. Entries required by Thursday 29th Sept. to enable draws to be posted.

Elo rating as at the commencement of the 2011 Billiards Pennant season. No player permitted to play below their Elo rated Grade. Players not listed need to contact the belwo and a Grade will be allocated.

Completed Tournaments

Last night Danik Lucas beat Stephen Burford in the final of the Premier League Billiards. Chasing a start of 625 over 2-1/2 hours Danik proved too strong for Steve catching him with about 20 minutes to go. Steve struggled most of the night failing to produce the kind of form that saw him easily account for Garvin Gray in his semi final. Whilst in contrast Danik seemed to move his play to another level from what he displayed in his semi final against Les Watson.

 

Draw now available The C.Ex Coffs Snooker Club will conduct their annual 2012 Easter Carnival Handicapped Snooker Tournament commencing on Friday 6th., Saturday 7th. and Sunday 8th. April 2012. Prize money totals $3350.00
